On its tenth anniversary, Politics. Rivista di Studi Politici will publish a special issue with the aim of reflecting on the epistemological status and the methodologies of the field of History of Political Thought. In line with the journal’s editorial policy and its openness to the various disciplines that constitute political studies, the special issue will promote this reflection through articles that examine the following topics:
- The relationship between History of Political Thought and related disciplines (Political Philosophy, Political Science, Conceptual History, History of Philosophy, History of Ideas, Intellectual History, History of Political Institutions, Cultural Studies, Political Theory) from a historical and/or contemporary perspective;
- The context and categories for a global History of Political Thought;
- The context and categories for a regional History of Political Thought (e.g., History of Chinese Political Thought /Latin American Political Thought, etc.);
- The Western framework of the canon and categories of the field of History of Political Thought;
- The positioning of History of Political Thought within the classification of disciplines (ERC sectors, SSD, etc.).
With the aim of promoting a special issue capable of actively engaging with the various ongoing changes in the global context (historical-political, geopolitical, academic, scientific, etc.), articles should critically interrogate the topics addressed. Proposals from scholars in the aforementioned fields are welcome.
